@Velvet3den they were going to tour the USA but Mana and Gackt considered it to much compaired to a Japan/Europe tour. Mana is the same with Moi Dix Mois. He canceled the only US tour cause of cost.

  • nan062:

you can buy the dvd at cdjapan.com

  • XidontwantcakeX:

yu~ki looks SO good in tis vid *____*

  • Velvet3den:

@ArcKaive Hmm, it’s VERY possible that they didn’t tour in the US because they only were big in Japan?….

  • cryinglullaby:

i wouldn’t get too close to kami, while he was beating the drums… wait, i couldn’t refuse to get close to kami.

  • Drago02129:

Hm… Japanese people dressing up in Imperial Japanese officer costumes, whilst waving around the Flag of the Rising Sun. I think you guys are missing that. >_>

  • NeoNebula0Katana:

No. This is from the Voyage DVD. The Selection de Performance DVD has this, only shorter, out of order, and plays a recorded version of the music rather than what is in this live. In other words, they butcher this. I know, I have Selection de Performances. I wish I had Merveilles and Voyage . . .

  • Velvet3den:

    not most…but in the beginning…

  • Velvet3den:

    Yep , like in Syunikiss^^

  • TamaChanMyu:

This would make a really great boss battle theme!

  • lovelydarkness333:

Okay… Hearing Gakt yelling Motto. HOT.

  • JRockfreak001:

You know what people usually think of fangirls, right? Fanboys are somehow different, they tend to be more hidden. I don’t go screaming about my favorite shows, bands and video games. I like Malice Mizer because their songs touch me in a way. All eras are great and I like all of the members. I do like them but not in a psycho way, but I do like bashing on them just for laughs

  • InLoveWithMIYAVI:

Whats wrong with being a fanboy?
    im a fangirl :P

    he definitely is somewhere

  • JRockfreak001:

Kami and Gackt’s voices together are wonderful to heard. The pink butterfly is still flying around the world somewhere. I’m a fanboy by the way

  • InLoveWithMIYAVI:

    lol
    DIE GAME

dont you think kami had such a great singing voice to back gackt X)

  • JRockfreak001:

This song is stuck in my head, just keep hearing DIE GAME so much I want it to keep happening

  • adanteria:

this song is great….. too great…………

  • nnarcisz:

I think it was planned… At the very begining I think someone else shouted not GAckt while he was busy whith something else… And during the song the « playback » is short and lots of bands have this kind of « implant »…

    I like their uniform <3

  • xmadteaparty:

as some dude said yesterday, « the japanese are more european than the europeans themselves ».

  • kaelanbaby:

Yeah, he does. Malice Mizer was more visual during their prformances, more show than singing

  • outsidereeplay:

Is it just me, or does anyone notice that Gackt lip synced most of the song?

  • Ravencliff:

    Of course

  • GamerZoidExtreme:

cool thanks do you like Moi Dix Mois

  • Ravencliff:

It’s the military uniform of the Japanese army in World War II

  • Tactica246:

  • CivilServantMan:

    Great film!
I remade this movie as a game level for the PS3 game Little Big Planet a year ago. That worked perfectly. Check out my filmed version here on youtube. Search with ‘Melies’ and ‘ LBP’ and you’ll find it.

  • sou192:

Check out the Smashing Pumpkins video « Tonight, tonight ».
    It’s almost the same!
Respect to great Méliès that is still an inspiration after 100years
Respect to the Pumpkins for making a new version of Le voyage dans la Lune
    and a great song!

  • iKinetics:

    @keelasever so true :) )

  • keelasever:

Actually this old movie looks a lot more real than the one Americans made for the Apollo mission in 1969! mmmmm….good.

  • johnwaynewasafaggot:

beats 90 minutes with willi’s bruce evey time.

  • FinnishFuturist:

Little did Méliès know most of this would end up coming true only 67 years later! it’s sad he didnt see it happen.

  • cheesemasters:

    lovely stuff, really lovely.

  • Kenador:

Simpson654, please remember that were’re dealing with cinema, not with a masses’ entertainment like Star Wars. Also remember that in 1968, Stanley Kubrick made 2001:A space odyssey, and whereas there was no color picture of the Earth, he had the idea of tainting it in blue. You also say that when Star Wars was released, « it was inconceivable that anyone would actually ever visit the moon », but n 20th July, 1969, a man called Neil Amstrong did. Too bad, man. You’re all wrong…

  • LuxClassical:

Tendría muchos defectos, pero el cine de esa época es entrañable…

  • Gerkinstock:

Buzz Aldrin once met a man who told him we still haven’t put man on the moon. That man met Aldrin’s fist shortly thereafter.

  • Simpson654:

Star Wars, only 76 years earlier. Then it was inconceivable that anyone would actually ever visit the moon. Thankfully Star Wars set in a galaxy far, far away, a long long time ago, so all the « scientific problems » are solved… it’s a fantasy extravaganza like this one, nobody would have taken the Jules Verne’s idea of launching people in a cannon to the Moon seriously, even in Verne’s time. The sudden acceleration will kill any passengers in an instant. Only liquid fueled rockets got us there.

  • MEKON17:

    @AfroHorseProductions yeah ! its great

  • AfroHorseProductions:

Im just saying how far we have advanced in technology.

  • MEKON17:

@Phranky yeah ! and talk about a shoddy story in this one – hello hg wells (not to mention the shoddy shoddy science)

  • MEKON17:

@AfroHorseProductions i don’t see why the thumbs down – this is a great triumph of the science that this film celebrates !

  • otherfool:

Incredible experience, cinematographic wonder of a film. Fantastic effects, it does put movies such as Avatar (average at best) to shame.

  • spirmessi:

    ?/
    /?
/? ? If you like to see the cinema history watch *BIRTH OF CINEMA* in youtube and enjoy.

  • RazzleDazzleLiz:

Does anyone know the title and composer of the piano piece playing in the background?

  • GirthyTrees:

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a poster print of the film? If so where? I just found one on ebay from 1914 which was amazing. Sadly the $500,000 + asking price is a little out of my range.

  • ilovepoulet:

Je trouve ça étonnant et réjouissant que des films datant du début du 20e siècle soient visionnables sur YouTube !

  • AfroHorseProductions:

And to think this was top technology and now i can do this with a cellphone

  • LogInForPaper:

    O mon dieu! c’est terrible!
